President Eisenhower added "Columbine II," a Lockheed VC-121 Super Constellation, to the presidential fleet in 1953. It served as the official presidential aircraft for just two years, from 1953 to 1955. Despite the brief service, it became an important part of the fleet and was the first aircraft to bear the call sign "Air Force One."
