The 45th anniversary of Black Barbie commemorates the launch of the first-ever Black Barbie doll, created by designer Kitty Black Perkins in 1980. This anniversary is marked by a limited-edition collectible doll that honors Perkins' groundbreaking contribution to the brand. This new version features a stunning design inspired by the original, including a red off-shoulder gown, a cascading chiffon and satin skirt, and accessories, similar to those worn by the original doll.

The first repro of the original doll celebrated its 40th in 2020.
