The 2007 Black Label 80s Cher doll, designed by Bill Greening, features a recreation of an original Bob Mackie outfit Cher wore in her 1989 music video "If I Could Turn Back Time". The outfit was considered so revealing that MTV banned the music video at the time. The packaging includes a clear plastic box with frosted sections to obscure parts deemed unsuitable for children under 14. In 2010, at 64 years old, Cher wore the same costume to present at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Mattel has released four different Cher dolls, one in 2001 and three limited editions in 2007. They are part of the Black Label, designed for adult collectors.
