Made by Mattel exclusively for The Metropolitan Museum of Art in a limited edition of 500, the Moschino Barbie outfit reimagines a look from Jeremy Scott’s 2015 Spring/Summer couture collection for the fashion house, in which all the designs were inspired by the doll. At $75, the doll sold out a few hours after appearing in the Met shop. Scott designed the life dress for American country singer Kacey Musgraves to wear at the 2019 Costume Institute's Gala, themed 'Camp: Notes on Fashion.' Beyond the spring collection and the Gala collaborations, Scott created outfits for the doll in 2015 and for Barbie and Ken in 2016.
