Notably, she was one of the first women to register to vote in the United States. She voted in the 1872 presidential election and was subsequently arrested at her home in New York. Additionally, she co-founded the National Woman Suffrage Association. Anthony did not live to see the passage of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote.
