The 2026 Met Gala was held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, opening the Costume Institute's spring exhibition Costume Art and the museum's new Condé M. Nast Galleries, a nearly 12,000-square-foot space adjacent to the Great Hall. The show, curated by Andrew Bolton, examined the relationship between clothing and the body beneath it, pairing historical and contemporary garments from the Costume Institute with artworks across the Met's collection, organized into thematic body types ranging from the Naked Body to the Pregnant Body and the Aging Body. The dress code for the evening was Fashion Is Art. The gala's co-chairs were Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour. The exhibition was on view to the public from May 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027.
