Green Not Red Hulk

In the late 70's, the live-action drama The Incredible Hulk, developed and produced by Kenneth Johnson, who initially wanted the Hulk to be red (of anger, not green, the color of envy), was a big part of Gen X's silver boxes.

The character was played by two men: bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk and actor Bill Bixby as Dr. Banner.  The pilot started with the line: “Within each of us, ofttimes, there dwells a mighty and raging fury.”

Banner’s quest was to find self-control and not be terrorized by demons. Johnson gave Banner piercing white eyes like The Hulk’s when he’d been triggered, so the audience knew that he was at the point of no return.
