Over the years, Barbie has not been confined to a single profession or role. Instead, she has explored many careers, totaling over 200 distinct occupations. One notable instance occurred in 1965 when Mattel introduced the Astronaut Barbie. This foresighted move preceded the inclusion of women in NASA by thirteen years, predating Sally Ride's historic journey as the first American woman in space in 1983.
