The Sapphire Anniversary Barbie is the first doll released after a four-year hiatus of the Barbie Fashion Model Collection (BFMC). It commemorates the brand’s 65th anniversary with a sapphire-inspired look that pays tribute to both the milestone and the line's timeless elegance. The BFMC was introduced in 2000, designed by Robert Best as a tribute to haute couture and vintage fashion. Characterized by its use of Silkstone, a durable material with a porcelain-like finish, the line quickly became a favorite among collectors for its high-quality craftsmanship and refined aesthetic. Over the course of two decades, more than 100 designs were released under the collection. The BFMC’s return continues to honor its original vision: celebrating the artistry and legacy of fashion dolls through detailed designs and high-quality materials. As part of the Gold Label, fewer than 25,000 units were produced worldwide.
