Costume Designer and illustrator Bob Mackie began designing costumes for Elton John in 1973 and continued to do so for many years. His career began in 1961, and since then, he has won nine Emmys, three Academy Award nominations, and an induction into the Television Academy Hall of Fame. He is best known for the original sketch of the Marilyn Monroe dress worn in 1962 at President John F. Kennedy's birthday celebration.
