The Lucille Ball Barbie is part of Mattel's Tribute Collection, which honors cultural visionaries, such as the American TV actress and comedian who produced and starred in the popular sitcom I Love Lucy in 1951. In 1962, Ball became the first woman to own a major studio, Desilu Productions. She was later inducted into the TV Hall of Fame in 1984. Principal Designer Bill Greening designed the limited edition doll exclusively sold through Mattel Creations.
